KOBOLD Appoints New GM, Operations and Technical Services Managers ...
KOBOLD Instruments, Pittsburgh headquarters, has had some changes for the 2007 year. These changes start with a new leader for the General Manager position. Jim Hall who had overseen KOBOLD’s operations as General Manager for 17 years has passed the torch onto Dave Shedlock.

DMI - Magnetic Inductive Flowmeter for Conductive Liquids and Slurries
The KOBOLD series DMI operates on the magneto-inductive principle. With no protrusions into the pipe, conductive liquids and slurries can be measured with virtually no system pressure loss. The DMI is available with a PEEK or PVDF flow tube and Hastelloy C measuring electrodes are standard. These features make the DMI series light-weight, economical and suitable for many types of chemical solutions and aggressive media. The DMI series has no moving parts and is therefore virtually maintenance free. The electronics package includes an LCD rate/total display which is switchable from U.S. to metric units. The standard open collector output is configurable as a pulse flowrate transmitter or alarm switch. An optional 4-20 mA flow rate transmitter is also available. Setup is easy with menudriven programming which can be set by the user in one of seven different languages. more... |

PSR/PS - Paddle Type Flow Switch
KOBOLD series PSR/PS paddle type flow switches can be used wherever a simple economic yet reliable monitoring instrument is required for flow switching applications. The device operates as follows: The flowing medium presses against the paddle. The paddle is fitted to one end of a balance arm which is in direct contact with a pre-stressed leaf spring. At the other end of the balance arm is a permanent magnet. This magnet actuates a reed contact located within a moveable housing outside the media. The reed contact switches on or off depending on the flow rate. The switch output can then be used for system protection control. The movable reed switch on the KOBOLD PSR/PS allows the contact to be set either normally open (N/O) or normally closed (N/C) in the field. more... |
